In 2012 Jet Smit started her own company Jetfilm, to give script development a boost. Among her clients are mainstream film producers; NL film, PV Pictures and Kemna & zn. Her core business is:

• Advising on script development, also projects that are in so called “development hell”

• Reviewing plans for films and drama series

• Advising on the film potential of books

• Developing projects by teaming up writers and directors and stimulating the process of creating a synopsis or treatment.

Since 2011 she is also attached as a script consultant to Het Schrijfpaleis. (www.hetschrijfpaleis.nl). Het Schrijfpaleis is an institute that gives writers the opportunity to have their script read and played by professional actors and discussed by film professionals.

Jet Smit is a drama-editor. She graduated in 1994 at the University of Utrecht writing her thesis on the script development of the Flying Dutchman, a film by Jos Stelling.She started her working career making films in the production department, first with Award winning Antonia’s Line, then with a diversity of drama, a.o. Koos Tak by Theo van Gogh and Madelief, a children’s series by Ineke Houtman.

Continuing her work as a director's assistant and script supervisor she worked an additional eight years on film and television drama, working together with directors such as Frank Ketelaar, Albert Jan van Rees, Remy van Heugte, Tim Oliehoek. She acquired her experience in advising on script development at the Dutch Film fund working together with different consultants; a.o. Esmé Lammers, Jan Eilander, Ate de Jong, Marleen Gorris. She followed additional education at Sources, Robert Mc Kee and the Binger Film lab with Franz Rodenkirchen.

She is fluent in Dutch & English and has a reasonable knowledge of French, Spanish and German.
